- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 lime, juiced and zested
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 scallions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
- Wonton chips for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the tuna: Using a sharp knife, dice the sashimi-grade tuna into 1/4-inch cubes. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
- Make the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, lime juice, and minced ginger.
- Prepare avocado: Dice the avocado into similar-sized pieces as the tuna. Toss gently with a little lime juice to prevent browning.
- Combine ingredients: In a chilled bowl, gently fold together tuna, avocado, scallions, jalapeño, and cilantro.
- Dress the tartare: Add the dressing and gently mix until everything is evenly coated. Be careful not to mash the avocado.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld. Serve with toasted sesame seeds and wonton chips.
